Adaptation
This mixed media collage embodies a woman's strength and courage through her struggle with cancer. With the will to survive she can weather the storm and even find beauty in the process. There is a strong emphasis on the maternal bond because I know now personally that a mother would do anything to survive for her child. And as a daughter, I would be lost without my mother. This piece contains media with personal emotional significance including rose petals from my mother's garden and my godmother's beads. It is an evolution of my story of a survivor continued 10 years later.
